🕯️ Seasonal Spotlight
This week has been a mix of preparation and fresh inspiration. I’ve been working on some plans to update our home; nothing major, but thoughtful changes that will help the first floor flow better, feel more cohesive, and reflect the stage of life we’re in now.
I love projects like this; the kind that add character and function without requiring a full renovation. A fresh coat of paint here, a rearranged space there, maybe new hardware or lighting. It’s about seeing what we already have and finding new ways to make it work harder (and feel prettier!) for us.
We’re also preparing the attic for our new roof, which is being installed soon. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about the expense, but it’s one of those necessary investments; the kind that ensures this old house of ours stands strong for another generation.
✨ Words to Carry With You
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
— Theodore Roosevelt
I’ve been reminding myself of this a lot lately. Whether it’s our home, work, or life in general, progress doesn’t have to mean perfection. Sometimes it’s just about taking small, steady steps forward with what’s already in front of you.
🏡 From My Home
I’ve been sketching out plans and making lists for our first floor updates (and using ChatGPT to help me put my ideas together and mockup what things will look like). Small changes that will make everyday life smoother and more intentional. I’ll be sharing more soon, but for now, it feels good to be dreaming again and finding joy in the process.
On the more practical side, we’ve been clearing and organizing the attic to get ready for the roofing work. It’s amazing how projects like this remind me of the layers of history in this old house; all the memories tucked away beneath the eaves.
🛍️ Work & Creative Life
In my reselling space, I finally spent some time reorganizing and photographing new inventory. It feels so good to walk into that room and see progress — everything in its place and ready to be listed.
And in my stationery business, I’ve started planning ahead for the new year. I’m making some shifts in structure; changes that better reflect where the world is now and what couples are really looking for. It’s important to me to evolve while still staying true to my values: meaningful design, timeless style, and personal connection.
💛 Things I’m Loving
- The satisfaction of a clean, organized workspace (it really does change everything!)
- Planning small home updates — paint swatches, sketches, and inspiration boards galore.
- A cozy playlist while working — soft acoustic, piano, and a little bit of indie folk.
- Freshly brewed afternoon coffee — because motivation always dips around 2 p.m.
- Knowing that progress, no matter how small, still counts.
