With the rising prices of everything from gas to groceries, it’s important to find every way you can to save money. While many households may have to sacrifice their excess spending to cover the necessities, I stand by my philosophy that creating a beautiful space at home is the foundation for a happy life overall. So, when it comes to decorating, making your money stretch as far as possible without sacrificing beauty and style is key. That’s why today I’m sharing my X places to find affordable wall art for your home.
If the past couple of years taught us nothing else, I think many of us realized the importance of home. From function, to organization to style, the foundation to a happy and healthy life is home. Home is our place to recharge, our place to rest, be with family and so much more. Having a hope that you feel happy about, that you love and that functions for you sets the tone for just about everything else in life.
So with that little speech out of the way, let’s get to today’s topic, shall we? Today I want to share some ideas for some places to purchase affordable wall art to decorate your space.
Thrift Stores, Flea Markets and Antique Shops
While true antique shops can charge a premium for some framed art, it never hurts to look to see what you may find. One of my favorite places to shop for framed art these days is a thrift / antique shop we discovered this past year. It’s a great place to find a mix of high and low end pieces and it’s become a favorite place to hunt for original art and quality frames especially during their 50% sales.
Most thrift shops have rotating sales so keep an eye out for when your local shops put art on sale and make a point to do some digging. You may just find a hidden gem.
Same goes for flea markets. Flea markets are a great way to find one-of-a-kind pieces and you can usually haggle a bit on price which means you may just get yourself a great deal!
Ebay
I go back and forth on Ebay. Sometimes I really love it, other times I really hate it. It can be a great source of discounted home decor though if you are willing to search and scroll through lots of listings. When it comes to wall art, you can find a mix of new and vintage and original wall art sometimes with really unique frames in a wide range of price points making it a great place to search.
At Home
If you live near an At Home store then you know it’s like Lowe’s for home decor. It’s a massive store full of everything from furniture to pillows to lamps and all kinds of wall art from smaller to large sizes. While the quality tends to be a bit on the cheaper side, if you are on a budget, this may be a great option. From canvas photography to framed modern art to landscapes; there is almost alway something to fit any style. B and I bought a few pieces here when we were first starting to experiment with revising our home style. It gave us some updated options without a huge financial investment.
Etsy
I mentioned Etsy already but one thing that I’ve been especially into lately is printable wall art. From classic art prints to modern graphics, if you are willing to do a little DIY, you can really save big on art. You can also find original art already framed as well as vintage wall art in a range of styles and price points. One of my favorites is Echoshop for digital art.
Minted
Because Minted sells designs and original artwork created by independent artists, you always know you will find a wide range of unique options to choose from. Prices vary based on the size and options you choose but it’s a great resource for finding the perfect wall art for your space.
Juniper Print Shop
I started following Jenny Komenda’s blog way back around 2009. She has always had such a great style mixing colors and patterns like no one else. Her business has really grown and evolved over the years and now she has a print shop site where you can buy digital art or printed art on canvases with or without frames. Her site has a range of options and sizes including some amazing large scale options that are so cool! If you haven’t heard of Juniper, you need to check it out.
