Labor Day is the unofficial end to summer and with things starting to look and feel a bit more like fall, I’ve slowly started to add some early fall touches around the house.
As much as I love fall, I don’t have a lot of fall decor so I try to creatively bring the feeling of fall to the house with things that may not necessarily be fall decor. For example, this simple fall vignette in our entry hall is compiled of some fake fall pumpkins and leaves mixed in with some hand-me-down yellow Fenton Glassware in a soft buttery yellow.
The yellow feels fall when paired with the fall leaves and tie in nicely to the art I have temporarily hung on the wall. It’s not much but easing into fall decor felt like the right choice this year.
In the family room I created a very simple, neutral fall mantle that actually turned out to be a bit too symmetrical despite that not really being the plan. I hope to update this again as we get further into the season, but for now this is a super simple look that reminds me that we are heading into fall without feeling like I decorated too early.
In addition to the simple mantle, I hung a couple of my fall framed art pieces. My favorite is this little guy that I paired with one of my tobacco baskets.
On the other side of the room, I hung my pumpkin patch sign and am still tweaking the top of the dresser.
This is what’s fun about decorating your home. There is never a right or wrong way to do it and when something doesn’t end up looking good, you can always move things around and try to make it better.
