Hello dear friends. I come to you today with some fall inspiration that I had actually planned to share with you a week ago. Sometimes even the best plans don’t always come to be I guess.
But, last is better than never and I’m so excited to share my fall table with you!
My fall tablescape is a layered look featuring a mix of newer and vintage and thrifted items. I love mixing old and new pieces no matter where it is in the house. Mixing old and new always creates a one-of-a-kind look.
I started by angling this beautiful Pottery Barn beige and orange table throw. It’s perfect for fall but the beautiful embroidered pattern makes it beautiful for any time of year. Our dining room table is so large, I have found that I like table throws because it’s hard to find full table cloths long enough.
For the place settings, I bought these simple, gold charger plates at the dollar store. Yes, they are cheap but layered with everything else, you can’t tell at all! If you are looking for affordable charger plates, check out Dollar Tree. I’m thinking of going back for other colors to have on hand.
The rest of my table settings include my vintage white plates that my mom gave me (see them here in another fall setting), topped with these stunning black salad plates from Williams Sonoma. Like my table throw, I also scored these on ebay. They were a bit of a splurge (plus I bought two sets) but they were well worth it! I am absolutely in love with them and just love how they pop.
Don’t be afraid to mix plates from different sets. The black plates work with my vintage ones so well because they are the same shape. A happy accident but it works!
The glasses were part of a box lot from a public sale B and I went a couple months ago up the street. I wanted one thing, a vintage set of china and came home with the china, a large set of transfer ware style dishes, some cut glass dessert glasses and these pretty leaf pattern glasses. I’m sure they aren’t worth anything but I love vintage dishes and glassware and I thought these enhanced my fall table.
I considered buying some gold flatware but that seems to be what everyone is doing these days so I pulled out the vintage silverware that I inherited from my grandmother and even though they are silver, I kind of love how they look.
The centerpiece is simple. I used some faux pumpkins from Michael’s and some faux leaves and flowers to add some texture. I did use some of my small faux pumpkins as filler and found these adorable tiny pumpkin candles from Pottery Barn to put at each place setting to fill in. I mixed in some wooden candle holders for height and additional texture but that’s pretty much where I stopped. The look is layered and mismatched but somehow it all goes.
