A Few Fun and Simple Outdoor Painting Projects

At Home· DIY· Garden & Outdoor· Projects

22 Aug

Despite the extreme summer heat, we’ve had our fair share of clear weather and I’ve taken advantage of the weather to do a few outdoor projects and I thought it would be fun to share a little bit of that with you today.

Just like painting a room in your house, a fresh coat of paint outside of your home can go a long way toward giving it a fresh new look even if you don’t paint a lot.  I wanted to incorporate the pretty sage green color that I used on my Garden Shed elsewhere around the house so I started with painting the front door to the house and the shop down the same color.

Both doors have been black since we moved in and even though I love me a pretty black door, the lighter green really pops with the red brick and white trim.

I then gave B’s tool shed a fresh coat of the same green paint.  My little garden shed is like the little sister of B’s bigger tool shed so it made sense that the two be finished to match each other as well.

I’d still like to see some white trim around the sliding door and on the corners of the shed but the fresh green paint looks really pretty with the black metal roof.

Our most recent project is the deck. It’s a few years old now and we never seem to have the time to get it painted. Maybe we purposely put it off but now that it’s done, it looks better than brand new!

I started painting the cement siding we installed on the exterior of the mudroom and dining room walls.  Once B returns the ladder from the side porch, I’ll get the top finished but I’m excited about the progress.
