Our Oak Flooring arrived just in time for us to move from the upstairs lounge into our Master Bedroom. Just like we did on the first floor of our house a couple years ago, we ordered the same, wide plank, unfinished “Utility Oak” from Lumber Liquidators to do our second floor. With the experience of doing our first floor under our belt, we moved much faster upstairs and in less then a week, they were installed, sanded and sealed so today I’m excited to share with you the new oak flooring in our master bedroom.

New Oak Flooring in the Master Bedroom
As I mentioned, in just about a week’s time, we installed our entire master bedroom and walk-in closet. We also sanded and sealed the floors with three coats of sealer and then went back and and installed the finish trim around the perimeter of the room.
The bright sunlight makes the floors look darker and more yellow then they are in real life. They do deepen with the poly but they are not yellow. We love the look of the natural wood, so like before, we did not do any kind of stain. All the variation is what gives this floor character.
As you can see from the photos, we are farther along than just the floors so I’ll be back in a few days with the details on everything else we’ve done so far.
