Fall Decor in the Dining Room and Fall Centerpiece

Our dining room is the room on the first floor that still needs the most work.  It was part of our major first floor remodel a year ago and is the one room that wasn’t finished.  The room is still missing trim and baseboard, and the cabinets on the top of the wall of built-ins.

Even though this room isn’t complete, I still really wanted to carry my fall decorating into the space.  I focused on the table mostly because we don’t have a lot of furniture in this room. A mix of faux flowers and real pumpkins creates a simple and neutral centerpiece for our very large farmhouse table.

To create this look I used a neutral table runner as my base.  I used this one.

I folded my garland in half to make it look more full and then placed it on top of the table runner in the center of my table.  Then using a few small pumpkins and gourds in similar colors I placed them randomly around the outside filling in anywhere that felt a little empty.

You can find a few similar garlands here, here and here.

On the buffet I kept things simple with a few real pumpkins and fall garland that  I’m still fussing with because I can’t make it laythe way I want it. This space is still a work-in-progress but for now, these fall touches add just enough to fit in with the rest of the house.
