5 Simple Summer Dresses from Amazon under $30

Lifestyle· Self Love

13 Jul

My personal style changes and morphs all the time, and I have definitely seen my style in the last year transition into more of a simple and classic style.  I no longer crave all the trendy and unique pieces. Instead, I find myself reaching for simple and classic pieces that are easy and comfortable but still look put-together.  That also means turning to a simple, everyday dress for an instant outfit. Lately I’ve added a few affordable dresses from Amazon so today I’m sharing with you a few of my current favorite everyday summer dresses from Amazon under $30.

I’ve been a dress kind of girl for years.  Where most women I know avoid dresses at all costs, I find them comfortable and actually pretty flattering and I know that dresses do not have to mean dressed up at all.  The right dress can be worn with a baseball cap and sneakers just as well as with a cute pair of sandals and a fun clutch. That’s the kind of dresses I seek, especially in the summer.

Button Front Sweetheart Neckline Midi Dress

I have been drawn to this style of dress all spring and summer.  In full disclosure, I didn’t buy this dress because I bought a very similar dress from Walmart but this one definitely stands out to me.  This is one of those dresses that can transition from work to weekend with an easy change of accessories.

For the office, throw on a summer weight blazer or cardigan, maybe add a best and some great sturdy strappy heels and you’ve got a great look for work.  For the weekend, grab some fun sandals and a sun hat and maybe a straw bag (see my DIY version here) and you’ve got a great look for the beach, running errands or a picnic with family or friends.

Color-block Knit Midi Dress

I’ve been on the hunt for a couple dresses to take to the beach in a couple weeks.  Options that I could throw on for a casual dinner with B or layer over a bathing suit for the beach or the boat.  This bold, color-blocked mini dress stood out to me because of the bold color blocking and because it’s super flowy. I love that it isn’t a true maxi (it is cooler) but that it isn’t’ too short either.

I have definitely become more modest as I’ve gotten older. A pair of great wedges and a long necklace makes this a super fun dress for a casual date not on the boardwalk with B or I can throw on my blue Birkenstock sandals (link here) grab my sun hat and beach bag and I’ve got a super cool beach or boat look.  This would also be a great poolside look!

Knotted T-Shirt Dress

I’ve become a big fan of the t-shirt dress and this year discovered that aside from the obvious casual options, the right dress can also be quite office appropriate.   I love this t-shirt dress because of the knot detail; something you usually see with longer dresses. The knot detail on this dress gives it a little more personality and shape.  This could be worn over a bathing suit or with a crossbody bag and tennis shoes for a day running errands. LOVE!

Striped Shirt Dress

Shirt dresses can be tricky.  They can be shapeless and not so flattering on all body shapes but I’ve always loved this style of dress and have found a few over the years that I have really loved.  This one stood out because it’s sleeveless and I instantly thought it could work over a bathing suit. It is also obviously cute enough to be worn a bit more dressed up for a casual office look.  This dress is all about the accessories!

It’s versatile enough for the accessories to dictate the look. This dress is available in a couple other color combinations and I honestly had a hard time deciding on this one or the navy blue option.  I opted for the light colors and I am glad I did because the white base feels much more summery. Orange isn’t a color I tend to gravitate toward but the pops of it make this dress bold without being uncomfortable.

High Waist Polka-Dot Dress

This dress made me think of the lady-like dress worn in Pretty Woman.  It’s simple and classic and could be worn for work or weekend.  The sunny yellow color will transition into early fall perfectly.

Amazon can be tricky when it comes to buying clothing but at the same time, it can be a great source for affordable and unique pieces.  Great summer dresses under $30 means you can afford

5 Ways to Transition Your Decor from Fall to Christmas (Without Feeling Rushed)

There’s something about a cottage-inspired home that instantly feels welcoming. Maybe it’s the layers of soft fabrics, the warm glow of a lamp in the corner, or the way everyday items are displayed with charm. To me, “cozy” doesn’t mean cluttered — it means creating a space where you can truly relax and enjoy the simple beauty of home. Over the years, I’ve discovered a few essentials that always make our home feel inviting and comfortable. These cozy touches are timeless, affordable, and easy to add no matter the size or style of your home. 🛋️ Soft Layers & Textiles Nothing says cozy like a stack of pillows and a throw draped over the sofa. I love mixing neutral tones with subtle patterns — florals, stripes, or checks — to create that layered, collected look. In bedrooms, a quilt or coverlet at the foot of the bed adds both charm and warmth. Image Suggestion: Wide shot of your living room sofa with throws and pillows layered. Pin-worthy vertical image. 🕯️ Warm Lighting Overhead lighting can feel harsh, so I rely on lamps, sconces, and even candles to create a warm glow. A cottage-inspired home shines with layered lighting — the soft glow of a lamp in the evening makes a room instantly more inviting. Image Suggestion: Close-up of a side table with a lamp, book stack, and candle burning. 🌿 Natural Elements Fresh flowers in simple vases, a basket by the door, a vintage wooden bowl — natural elements bring warmth and texture to a cottage home. Even faux greenery works if you mix it thoughtfully. Image Suggestion: Seasonal arrangement on your entryway table or kitchen counter (sunflowers, hydrangeas, or eucalyptus in fall). 📚 Personal Touches Books, artwork, and vintage finds tell your story. A stack of well-loved novels, a thrifted oil painting, or a collection of blue-and-white dishes make a space feel lived in and personal. Cozy isn’t about buying new — it’s about surrounding yourself with what you love. Image Suggestion: Styled bookcase or coffee table vignette with books + art + personal accents. 🧺 Comfort Underfoot Rugs are one of the easiest ways to add coziness to a room. I love mixing a natural jute or sisal rug with a smaller patterned rug layered on top. It adds instant warmth and that collected, cottage feel. Image Suggestion: Angle of your living room or bedroom showing layered rugs. 🍵 Kitchen Comforts A cozy home isn’t complete without the kitchen. For me, it’s having a favorite mug for my morning coffee, simple linen towels, and a candle flickering while I cook dinner. These small details make the everyday feel special. Image Suggestion: Coffee setup with mugs + candle + linen towel. Conclusion At the end of the day, creating a cozy cottage-inspired home isn’t about following strict rules. It’s about layering soft textures, adding warm light, and filling your rooms with pieces that feel personal and meaningful. These cozy essentials are what make our house feel like home — and I hope they inspire you to create the same in your space.
