5 Simple Bathroom Updates for Little or No Money

In light of the powder room updates I’ve been sharing, I got to thinking about updates that could be done for little or no money.  My budget was $200-$300 but I wanted to see what could be done for less than $100 so I put together five ideas that you can do to give your bathroom a spring update for $100 or less!

From painting the walls, painting the trim or painting your vanity, this is one simple way to completely change the look of your space.   I have been really loving the look of dark trim with white walls lately.  It creates a ton of drama in a small space.

If buying paint isn’t in the budget to do the entire room, paint just the trim or the vanity and get away with a quart size can.  Look through your stash of paint from previous projects and paint for free.

Nothing can add a splash of color like a bold rug.  It’s a simple way to add some fun color and/or pattern to your bathroom if you don’t have the time or budget for new flooring.

Add new life to a tired vanity by changing out the hardware.  You’d be surprised how just changing out the hardware can update an older vanity.

Whether for counter storage and organization or mounted on the wall to create dimensional shelving, baskets are a great way to add a natural element to your bathroom.  Baskets come in so many sizes, shapes and materials, they can be used for any style or space.

Whether used as storage over the cammode or to fill a blank wall, ladders make a great option to add character to a cold bathroom.  Mount baskets to the ladder or use as a towel rack to show off pretty towels while they dry.

Don’t have a vintage one?  That’s ok, you can buy a new one that looks old or visit you local flea market.

Bathroom renovations can be expensive but sprucing up your bathroom doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.  Getting creative with things you already have or spending a little in the right places can go a long way toward breathing new life into a tired space.
